The Festival of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha) is one of the two most important celebrations in the Islamic tradition in which Muslims around the world join in prayer, practice sacrifice (qurban), and feasting. This festival also marks one of the biggest annual assemblies of the world, the Hajj – the pilgrimage, as millions of Muslims observe the rites in the footsteps of Prophet Abraham.
Abraham, the patriarch, symbolizes matchless submission and trust in God, spirit of sacrifice, and generous hospitality. His is the path of Abrahamic sacrifice observed for no intent other than getting closer to the Truth.
